Humans have used Protection Spells since the dawn of civilization. In fact, our association with magic can be traced back at least 25,000 years. The spells in this book were assembled from both the Ancients and the Moderns. They span thousands of years of magical thought, development, practice, and are, for the most part, unknown to all but a select few. They have been translated, adapted and written in accordance with the universal rules of magic and witchcraft to fit and be utilized by our present-day society.
Protection Spells are a mysterious and volatile mix. They should always be used with great caution and yet defy testing. As with all spells, their effectiveness must be largely attributed to the will of the worker. If the will of the worker is weak, so will the spell also be. We therefore admonish you to practice your spells and learn to work them with confidence and resolve.
Experienced practitioners should find these spells have a familiar feel, while those new to The Craft may be surprised to find many of the common fallacies of today missing. For instance, within these spells you will find an overwhelming preponderance of natural ingredients with such things as colored candles, commonly used and believed in today, not being used at all. In their place, beeswax candles are used, as these are closer to the initial intent of the writers of these spells.
We encourage you to use these spells with the intent for which they were written, as a misuse of these spells could be disastrous. These spells are intended as curios and are to be used for personal entertainment purposes only.
One final note: When possible, all of these spells are best worked during a full moon.
