Pendulum dowsing is relatively easy to learn. A pendulum may be any small light object
such as a crystal, ring or even a washer with a thread, cord or chain of about 8 to 10
inches tied/attached to it. Clear quartz crystal is best used for this method of
divination. Learning to interpret the movement of the crystal is easy; thread, cord or chain between the thumb and forefinger and allow the pendulum to hang down, it should not touch any part of your body or any furniture. You may find it necessary to rest you elbow on the chair arm or on a table, this will prevent your arm wobbling and affecting the crystal. You need your hand and arm to be completely still. Wait until the crystal has stopped swinging at the end of the chain before you begin. All questions you ask the crystal should be ones that require a yes or no answer. You can ask the questions out loud, or if you feel self conscious you can project the question as thought toward the crystal. The four basic directions of movement of the pendulum are possible. These are clockwise, counterclockwise, back and forth in front of you or in and out away from you. Let you mind decide which diection should represent which answer. One movement can signify yes, another no, the third could be I don't know and the fourth I don't want to answer right now. Holding the pendulum, volintarily move it in each of the four directions. Then wait till it stops. Now ask which direction should be yes, no, etc. If it doesn't start moving quickly try thinking yes (etc) several times until it does begin to move, be sure not to move it voluntarily! As you gain in confidence and proficiency you will be able to ask the crystal to stop moving and it will do so. You could even try asking a question with a yes answer followed by one with a no answer without waiting for the crystal to stop moving, it's movement will alter from the 'yes' pattern to the 'no' pattern gradually. When you have mastered this you can start asking questions to which you need answers. The movement of the question will tell you yes or no. There is no set limit to how many questions you should ask in one sitting, although your crystal may behave oddly if you continue for too long. However, you shouldn't always interpret odd movement as a sign it's time to stop, sometimes the crystal just will not answer the question for some reason, either the answer is unclear or it is not yet time for the answer to be revealed, try the question again at another time. Remember the old saying if you ask a silly question you will get a silly answer, be sensible about the questions you ask and you will find it works. |
