Chakras
|
Chakras are points of energy in our bodies that help our body,
mind, and spirit function at peak levels, and transmit energy between the psychic,
astral, mental, and emotional levels of of our consciousness.
Our bodies are integrally linked to our minds, and the chakras correspond with different,
specific aspects of how our bodies, minds, and spirits work together to create one living
being.

ROOT CHAKRA:
The Muladhara is commonly know as the root chakra and is situated at the tailbone base of
the spine. It is associated with the element of Earth, representing the densest grade of
manifestation.
It could be considered the bliss centre for physical body. This chakra is responsible for
our abilities to perceive space and time, and to remain grounded to the Earth. It
corresponds with material things, success, patience, and courage.
Energy colour : Deep Red

SACRAL PLEXUS CHAKRA:
The Svadhisthana or "Self or Own Abode", is figured as having six petals, white in
colour, and with a crescent in the centre, the tattwa of water. This chakra therefore
corresponds to the element Water and is traditionally associated with the sexual impulses
and sexual energy.
Located about two inches below the navel, this chakra is responsible for our sexuality,
physical vitality, emotions, pleasure, desire, passion, love, change,new ideas, and
health.
Energy colour : Clear Orange

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA:
The Manipura chakra, or "place of gems", is described as having ten petals, red in colour
with a downward pointing triangle, representing the tattwa of fire. This chakra is
traditionally located at the navel, but in many modern chakra formulations it is placed
at the Solar Plexus.
This chakra represents ability to pick up vibrations and tune in to energy from other
people, places, and things. It corresponds with self-control, control of desire,
authority, transformation, happiness, and energy.
Energy colour : Bright Yellow

HEART CHAKRA:
The Anahata chakra is said to have twelve petals of a red or white hue, while the central
part is a smokey colour. It is associated with the element or tattwa of Air.
This chakra represents empathy and our ability to ground energy that flows through our
bodies. It corresponds with feelings, forgiveness, unconditional love, understanding,
compassion, trust, and openness.
Energy colour : Soft Green

THROAT CHAKRA:
The Vishuddha chakra has sixteen smoke-coloured petals, is located at the base of the
throat, is either white, transparent, smoke, or sky-blue in colour, and is associated
with the element Space (Akasha), through which are transmitted the subtle vibrations of
mantras
This chakra represents the human race, and represents our abilities to hear beyond the
normal hearing range. It corresponds with speech, communication with others,
self-expression, truth, wisdom, knowledge, honesty.
Energy colour : Azure Blue

THIRD EYE CHAKRA:
The Tantric Ajna or Brow chakra has two petals, is associated with the tattwa of Manas or
Mind and is located on forehead between the eyebrows
This chakra represents psychic ability, is the seat of the celestial body, clairvoyance
and the ability to see beyond time, mental ability, spirit guides, intuition,
concentration, enlightenment.
Energy colour : Dark Indigo Blue

CROWN CHAKRA:
The Crown Centre is located at the top of the head, above the ears. In Tantra this is
variously called the Sahasrara (Thousand Petalled lotus) This is the centre through which
one connects to spiritual dimensions and planes of consciousness beyond and above the
separate individual self. Through it one receives revelations from higher planes of
existence.
This chakra represents our connection to the God and Goddess, our higher selves. It
corresponds with personalities, spirituality, inspiration, unity, divine understanding
and wisdom, and infinity.
Energy Colour: Clear Violet or White
